James 5:14

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord

Welcome to my Essential Oils Blog!

The Workshop for February is now in the works. It will be held earlier in the month this time due to the training in Texas. The date for that workshop will be 2/11/10 @1pm. This month will cover digestion! The oils are Dill, fennel, Roman Chamomile, and an excellent blend called

Di-Gest.

The other project I need to work on is a Power Point Presentation with voice so that I can post it here on my blog. It will be a basic into to Essential Oils Overview. My idea is that if I can send people to my website and/or blog to watch this "class" on line it will free up time in the workshops. It will also keep others who have been to workshops from wasting time!

Feel free to post ideas and suggestions for workshops!

Preparations Nearly Complete!

Today I was able to finish the task of compiling the handouts for the upcoming workshop. I'm not expecting a huge number of "new to oils" people so I had to be creative to not use all of my old material!

What I have been working on today is a written summary that includes a very brief overview of what essential oils are, why you would want to use them, and the history of the medicinal use of Essential Oils. I have compiled new "Information Sheets" for each of the 5 featured oils to be covered. I had most of the info in front of me, it was just a matter of re-typing it. I had to learn how to make a "word template" which proved a little frustrating. I had compiled one such info sheet to have it lost... I deleted it by accident!

Ryan, my darlin son, is working on the power point presentation. He already has most of the slide in place, now he will just animate them and add some cool graphics. I would be a little lost without him!

Ron and I decided that there will be yet one more distraction to my course. I will be going to Texas at the end of next month for 4 days of training. Originally I was not going to go, but this may work out better for me than going to Salt Lake during the summer.

Change of Focus...

Well... preparations for the workshop this week have forced me to put aside my course until I finish the material for that workshop. I will be teaching on the use of Marjoram, Birch, Lemongrass, and two blends called Chiro Care and Physical Touch. Should be a small little group so we can cover them in depth and I can demonstrate the "how" easily.

Can't wait to get back to my new class! One really cool component is that they include some samples that are synthetic and some that are natural. They go through the process of teaching you how to distinguish between the two. That was my first "assignment".

The Course Materials Have Arrived!

Today I received my package with my correspondence course! I am thrilled to know that the material isn't nearly as daunting as I first feared! Because I have already been studying Essential Oils for about 2 years, I am pretty familiar with some of the information already. The course will serve to help make sure that my foundation is storng and this begins my "formal" education. When I have completed the course I will be able to take (and hopefully pass!) the International

The first section will be the Background of Essential Oils: The Products of Plant Metabolism, Production Methods, Basics of Distillation, Purification, and Analysis. Can't wait to come back to share what I have learned.

On another note I am working on the curriculum for another basic workshop that I will hold next week.

Stepping up...

As I step out in faith, I am waiting.

Waiting for books to arrive for my correspondence course.

I am very excited about what God has planned for this little blog...

A place where I can share the journey of discovery.
